This 3-star budget hotel is centrally located in Banglampu, with a short walking distance to Khao San Road, and has a pleasant outdoor pool overlooking the city.

Step out of Viengtai Hotel and you are in the heart of Bangkok. This is a paradise for shopping enthusiasts, with great bargains to be found in Khao San and Rambutri road. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars in the nearby area.

The outdoor pool is open throughout the day and a complementary towel is provided. Breakfast buffet is inclusive with a large variety of Asian and Western dishes catering to different tastes.

Viengtai Hotel is a walking distance to the Royal Grand Palace, the Buddhist temples Wat Phra Kaew and Wat Po, the Golden Mountain and National Museum.

When booking the hotel, I was afraid that it might be noisy, as it is situated right next to the busy Khao San Road. We did, however, not experience any noise from the street traffic (our room was facing away from the street) and we had a great stay. The swimming pool is also terrific and kept very clean. Hotel staff was friendly and the breakfast was exceptionally good (the best of all hotels)

Location was quite good. Plenty of little restaurants and bars around. I thought it was quite a known location. So it was easy to get there too. Area was busy during the night, and felt safe. However, stayed there for only 1 night, so difficult to judge. Plenty of backpakers around.

Receptionists could be bit more friendly with guests. We didn't see a single smile and were not very good providing information about the city. I am 6f tall and was touching the roof in the bathroom, so not good for tall people. Rest of room was okay - Comfortable bed and descent breakfast.
